Everyone tells you how to NOT get infected with a virus, but NO one says what to do if you have it on your body. Many thanks for nurses in the UK for compiling this guide.

What I’ve seen a lot are recommendations for trying to avoid the sick with a virus :

  1. Wash your hands well.
  2. Maintain personal hygiene.
  3. Keep your distance from others.

But what I haven’t seen a lot is, what advice is given if you really have contracted the corona virus & what preparations to do.

If you have contracted Corona Virus (Covid-19):

You basically just want to prepare yourself, as if you know you will experience severe respiratory problems, such as bronchitis or pneumonia. You only have the foresight to know that this might happen to you!

Things to start doing now:
  • Soak up the sun for 20 minutes all over your body (or as much as possible) every day. This will dramatically increase your Vitamin D levels, and increase your immune system.
  • If affordable, take a good general supplement, plus 2000 mg of Vit C once a day. Include ZINC, SELENIUM & GLUTATHIONE.
  • Scott’s Emulsion is a good general tonic (cod liver oil).

Things you should buy before:

  • Wipes
  • Paracetamol
  • Cough medicine (optional) But check the label and make sure you don’t duplicate with Paracetamol, Zinc tablets
  • Throat spray , such as Andolex or TCP.
  • Honey and lemon, can work well!
  • Vaporub for your chest, is also a good suggestion.

Here are tips you should do if you are isolating at home:

Humidifiers will be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you sleep all night. (You can also turn on the shower and sit in the bathroom breathing in the warm steam).

If you have a history of asthma and have an inhaler recipe, make sure it doesn’t expire and refill / get a new one if necessary.

Types of Food, the right time to prepare food: make large quantities of soup to be frozen and available when needed.

Hydration. Stock up on your favorite drink to drink, even though water is good enough, or maybe you like other variations of the drink. Just prepare it

If there are symptoms of fever more than 38 ° C, use Paracetamol because it is better than Ibuprofen.

Rest a lot. You must not leave your home! Even if you feel better, you might still transmit the corona virus for fourteen days and you should avoid avoiding meeting parents and other people.

Wear gloves and a mask to avoid polluting others in your home.

Isolate in rooms if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave food supplies etc. outside to avoid contact with others.

Change sheets and clothes as often as possible by washing and cleaning your bathroom with the recommended cleaner.

You DO NOT NEED TO GO to HOSPITAL unless you have difficulty breathing or your fever is very high (over 39 ° C) and it is not managed by taking medication. 90% of cases of healthy adults so far have been managed at home with basic rest / hydration / over-the-counter medicines.

If you are worried or in trouble or feel your symptoms are getting worse:

Pre-existing risks. If you have a pre-existing lung disease condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are using immunosuppressants, now is the right time to talk to your doctor or specialist about what they want you to do if you are sick.

Children. One big relief for you parents is that children are STRONGER, when infected with the corona virus, they usually get back up within a few days (but they will still be contagious). Just use a child’s dose.

How do you know you have contracted the corona virus?

1. Itching in the throat.
2. Dry throat.
3. Dry cough.
4. High body temperature.
5. Shortness of breath.
6. Loss of sense of taste & smell.
7. Covid toes – blue toes.

So if you are caught or things like the above, quickly take warm water with lemon and drink.
