WhatsApp Application Data on Windows 11 Swollen? Turn This Setting Off!

Some time ago I had a case where my SSD storage which was only 256 GB suddenly almost ran out. After some investigation, it turned out that the WhatsApp application that I downloaded via Microsoft Store was the cause, where the data from the application even exceeded the Starwars Squadron game that I installed. .

So what should you do if you encounter the same problem? Well, you can do the following things:

Change Media Settings in WhatsApp App on Windows 11

Please open the WhatsApp application on Windows 11, then go to Settings > Storage, make sure automatic downloads is not in the On position.

Delete Media That Has Been Downloaded To Reduce Storage Load

Next, please go to the following directory: C:\Users\your user\AppData\Local\Packages\5319275A.WhatsAppDesktop_cv1g1gvanyjgm\LocalState\shared\transfers, then delete all the folders there.

Note:

The directory name may be different, make sure you adjust it, but generally it is located in AppData > Local > Packages > Whatsapp > LocalState > Shared > Transfer.
